We reorganized our board committees, and we\u2019re already seeing the fantastic engagement and work of two new groups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The new <strong>Parent and Family Committee<\/strong> shares information about Augsburg and its services with families. We\u2019re thankful to the Parent and Family Committee for helping students move into campus housing this fall. Committee chair <strong><span class=\"s2\">Howie Smith \u201980 <\/span><\/strong>joined <span class=\"s2\"><strong>Cyrus Batheja \u201908, \u201911 MBA<\/strong> <\/span>to help with first-year student move-in day. Committee members <strong><span class=\"s2\">Derek Francis \u201908 <\/span><\/strong>and <span class=\"s2\"><strong>Hannah Dietrich Swanson \u201905<\/strong> <\/span>assisted with new student orientation. The committee hosts two parent and family nights per year, and the next event is March 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Rick Bonlender \u201978<\/span>, <span class=\"s2\">Josh Krob \u201908, \u201915 MBA<\/span>, <span class=\"s2\">Adriana Matzke \u201913<\/span><\/strong>, and <strong><span class=\"s2\">Brad Randall \u201913 <\/span><\/strong>on the new <strong>Adult Education Committee<\/strong> will focus on the growing adult undergraduate and graduate studies alumni communities. I attended Augsburg College as an MBA student from 2008 to 2010, and I\u2019m inspired by this work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\">Whether you remember your time at Augsburg as a cohort, a class, or a team\u2014as a grad student, traditional undergraduate, or adult undergraduate\u2014there is a place for all in the upcoming events at the College. The MBA networking event on October 25 was a welcome chance to see former cohort members for a mini-reunion and to get involved mentoring a future Auggie MBA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">As a board, we strive to better serve the College, our fellow alumni, and\u2014 perhaps most importantly\u2014Augsburg\u2019s current students.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">We\u2019re looking ahead to our next Alumni-Student Networking event on February 8. Last year, we had 260 participants\u2014a record-breaking attendance that included students, alumni, and faculty.
