Shift MN Recruiting Interns

Shift MN is recruiting interns for our Queering Community Health podcast and radio show! I’m looking for young people ages 16 to 22 who are passionate about building healthy queer communities, excited about sharing our stories, interested in developing their audio storytelling skills, and eager to work with a team of peers. Interns will be paid a stipend for each meeting attended and the internship will run October 2021 – mid-May 2022. This will be a hybrid internship with online meetings every Monday and – public health guidelines allowing – one masked, in person Saturday gathering a month.

Restoration Technician (Great River Greening) (seasonal)

Great River Greening is a non-profit environmental restoration organization whose mission is to lead and restore community-based restoration of natural areas and open spaces. We are accepting applications for a full-time Seasonal Restoration Technician position. The Seasonal Restoration Technician implements restoration and ecological management activities on public and private sites throughout Great River Greening’s project area in the state of Minnesota as a member of a small crew.

Compensation: $15/hr

Program Coordinator – Food Scrap Recycling (Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy)

Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy (R&E) is searching for a Food Scrap Recycling Program Coordinator. R&E is a joint powers entity formed by Ramsey and Washington Counties.  R&E coordinates recycling and waste programs between the two counties (joint activities), and owns and operates the Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy Center (R&E Center) in Newport, Minnesota

Compensation: $63,739 – $92,358

Program Communications Coordinator (Monarch Joint Venture)

The Program Communications Coordinator supports the MJV program team through science communication initiatives. MJV’s primary communications goal is to more prominently share the work and impacts of our science, habitat, and education initiatives for monarchs and pollinators. The Program Communications Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering these communications and communications resources.

Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000; full-time with benefits and flexible work environment

Partnership Coordinator (Monarch Joint Venture)

The MJV Partnership Coordinator leads the MJV partner network engagement and related projects. The primary goal of this position is to lead partner engagement through recruitment, strategy, and tracking of the MJV partner network and their activities.  The secondary goal of this position is to manage and administer the MJV partner grants program. The MJV Partnership Coordinator is also a key member of the MJV’s Communications Team, including managing MJV social media.

Events Coordinator (Monarch Joint Venture)

The MJV Events Coordinator is responsible for developing and streamlining systems for MJV events, including planning and executing the annual MJV events calendar. The MJV Events Coordinator will work across both Program and Development teams to coordinate events that complement program and fundraising work. This will include training sessions, outreach events, the annual partnership meeting, fundraising events, and more. This position also provides basic office management for the MJV.

Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000; full-time with benefits and flexible work environment

Conservation Program Manager (Urban Roots) (full-time year-round)

The Conservation Manager works closely with the Conservation Director to help ensure Urban Roots’ conservation program day-to-day operations run smoothly in order to fulfill its mission. This includes leading our youth internship program in education and environmental projects, developing content and participating in community events and classroom outreach, and fostering relationships with partner organizations.

Compensation: Salary starts at $45K/year DOE, health benefits, retirement package, paid vacation, holiday and sick time.

Independent Consultant for Grant-Writing/Management (Urban Roots)

Urban Roots is seeking a grant writer to work on a contractual basis that could expand to a long-term relationship. The grant writer would draft and submit all grant requests for the organization including private foundation, corporate, city/state/federal government, as well as assist with final reports for completed projects as needed. Additional duties would include prospecting for new grant opportunities and maintaining a yearly grants calendar.

Community Forestry Corps Members serve at a nonprofit or public agency with a mission to preserve and protect Minnesota’s environment and strengthen communities, with a focus on preserving and increasing tree canopy. Service could include tree inventorying, tree planting events,  gravel bed nursery design/construction/management, Emerald Ash Borer management plan development, citizen volunteer recruitment/training/utilization, and outreach and education events.

  • Compensation: $750/2 weeks, AmeriCorp Award ($6,345), individual health insurance (monthly premiums 100% covered), child care assistance may be available
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
