The faculty suggest that students limit outside work. \u00a0Most first and second year students do not work outside of the program at all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you accept transfer of credits?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We do accept up to 30 credit hours (10 courses) from previous graduate level courses. For further information, please review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/catalog\/\">Augsburg Academic Catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do students need to complete a dissertation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students develop a Dissertation as a requirement for graduation.\u00a0 The dissertation is intended to be a scholarly work that provides students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and thought about a particular clinical area; to demonstrate the ability to analyze methodological issues; and to produce an original piece of scholarly work in the field of clinical psychology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do students have a faculty mentor?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, all students can request a Clinical Faculty Advisor who they will study under for the duration of the program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are there Teaching or Research Assistantships available to students?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program does have teaching assistantships available to students after they complete the first year of the program. Teaching assistantships are granted on a course-by-course basis, and students may apply for more than one during their time in the program.\u00a0Unlike traditional Ph.D. programs, we do not offer formal Research Assistantships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I speak with a current or former student?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to be connected to a current or former student, please contact the Associate Director, International Admissions\/DSO Wendy Assal at <a href=\"m&#97;&#105;&#x6c;&#x74;&#x6f;:&#97;&#115;&#x73;&#x61;&#x6c;&#64;a&#117;&#x67;&#x73;&#x62;ur&#103;&#46;&#x65;&#x64;&#x75;\">&#97;&#x73;&#115;&#x61;&#108;&#x40;&#97;&#x75;g&#x73;b&#x75;r&#x67;&#46;&#101;&#x64;&#117;<\/a> or call 612-330-1210.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are international students eligible for CPT\/OPT?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In certain instances, Augsburg University will allow international graduate students to seek CPT opportunities during their first and second semester of their program to further the academic objectives of the degree.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To authorize CPT during the two first semesters, a recommendation from the academic\/faculty advisor will be required, including a written approval confirming that the CPT opportunity will deepen the students\u2019 learning outcomes, and that the experience will be an integral part of the established curriculum.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students&#8217; readiness and eligibility will be determined by the faculty\/academic advisor and the PDSO at Augsburg University, and will depend on the graduate program.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For students not eligible (for first and second semester CPT), CPT can be authorized after the completion of the second semester.\u00a0 More information can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.augsburg.edu\/isss\/\">International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) website<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is this program accredited?
