The Sabo Center is located in the Oren Gateway Center at Augsburg University. Our offices face Riverside Avenue and are across from Nabo Cafe on the main floor. Katie Clark, Director<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Clark MAN \u201910, DNP \u201914, joined Augsburg in 2009. She is also a professor of nursing and executive director of the Augsburg Health Commons. She has a passion for engaging with the community and infusing the university\u2019s mission into learning experiences to foster civic agency, cultivate belonging, and create relationship-centered care. Under her leadership, the Augsburg Health Commons expanded from a single site to five community-based locations serving individuals experiencing homelessness, social isolation, food insecurity, and interpersonal violence through various community-academic partnerships.<\/p>\n

Steve Peacock, Community Relations Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

Steve joined Augsburg in 2008 with nearly 20 years\u2019 experience in community development. <\/span>As Director of Community Relations, Steve identifies and facilitates opportunities for Augsburg to strengthen its engagement as an anchor institution and community member in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alex Fink, Faculty Fellow <\/strong>\"A<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

For 15 years, Alex has developed youth civic leadership programs locally and internationally. As a professor of Social Work and Youth Studies at Augsburg, his teaching and scholarship centers on community data justice, community-driven programs, and shared decision-making, particularly with young people and human service organizations. At the Sabo Center, he supports students, staff, and faculty to strengthen community engaged relationships and the commitments of Augsburg as a neighbor.<\/p>\n

Coral Ramos, Bonner Community Leaders Program Manager\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Coral joined Augsburg University with experience in youth work, specializing in college access and community-building programs. She holds a BA in Social Work and Race and Ethnic Studies from St. Olaf College. As the Bonner Program Manager, Coral is committed to fostering a deep sense of belonging and confidence among student participants as they explore their vocational paths. For Coral, the intersection of joy and justice is found in engaging with students and nurturing community.<\/div>\n

Zinnia Koy, Food Initiatives Program Manager\"Photo<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Zinnia is a recent graduate from Augsburg with BA in Sociology and a Campus Kitchen student intern alum. Their interest in increasing food access has been largely influenced by their family, who were farmers in Cambodia and are now devoted gardeners in the U.S. Zinnia has always treasured summers tending to the garden, picking vegetables and preparing food with their loved ones. The act of growing food, preparing food together, and sharing food with those around them is nourishing, comforting, and inspiring across language and culture. They are dedicated to sustainability, food sovereignty and co-creating a community in which we can rely on one another to share knowledge, grow where there is room for it, and rely on each other for our needs.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
