Community Coach & Judge Roles

This job is available to interested candidates in the Twin Cities Metro!
We are looking for community coaches for the 2020-21 season. Community coaches are experienced debaters who want to share their expertise with students and collaborate with teacher coaches at our area schools. Applicants who competed in Policy/Cross-Examination, Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, Classic, or Public Forum debate as high schoolers/college students would be highly preferred.
We pay our coaches $2,250 for the September-December season and we pay judges $55 a day to judge. Debate is a great way to earn a good amount of money as a coach or some nice weekend money as a judge – it’s also an excellent way to fulfill volunteer hours and work with students. Operations Coordinator:

The Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in implementing the administrative and operation systems for the Minnesota Urban Debate League program.


The pay range is $38,000-42,000 yearly. Augsburg University provides full benefits; additionally after one year, employees are eligible for tuition remission – a great benefit to further a degree for yourself or a dependent.

Community Debate Liaison – AmeriCorps VISTA

The Community Debate Liaison AmeriCorps VISTA role deadline has been extended to October 1st. Gain professional development in the nonprofit field while expanding the capacity of our Spanish Debate League and East African Debate programs. Nonprofit Communication Intern

Through this internship, students will make a difference for Twin Cities middle and high school debaters and gain valuable communication skills in a nonprofit setting. We are seeking a student who can work with us for 7-10 hours a week. This is a paid position.

You’ll master the basics of copywriting in a nonprofit setting, build a communication portfolio, gain knowledge of social media management, build personal and professional connections within the Twin Cities, and gain volunteer recruitment skills and experience. Supply Assistant / “Quartermaster”

In this position, students will learn basic operations tasks and help keep our year-round tournaments running smoothly. If you’re into color coding, organizing, and “Marie-Kondo-ing”, this role is for you!

You’ll organize and inventory debate tournament supplies, prepare volunteer information and packets, organize debate tournament feedback and help schools receive information, and assist program staff with tournament preparation and ordering supplies.

Contract Photographer

We are searching for a contract tournament & event photographer. We are seeking experienced photographers with their own gear who can capture the excitement of tournaments, from rounds to award ceremonies.
