Augsburg’s MFA is a two-year, low-residency program preparing students for the future of creative writing, and accommodating writers who work full-time, live outside of Minnesota, and require distance education. The program features an annual summer residency, one-on-one work with mentors, and engaging online classroom sessions.
The MFA program offers tracks in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, playwriting, and screenwriting. Students may also extend the MFA to complete concentrations in teaching, translation, or publishing. Concentrations are also open to writers who have completed an MFA in Creative Writing or equivalent work.
