Who We Are
Formally
known as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, and
Asexual Support Services, our program works to provide advocacy and support
for LGBTQIA students at the College as well as education and outreach to
the entire Augsburg community in regards to gender identity/expression and
sexual orientation.
Housed within the Department of Campus Activities and Orientation,
LGBTQIA Support Services is here for you. Stop by our office to say hello
or take part in one of the opportunities our office provides.
MISSION
The mission of LGBTQIA is to create an environment which gives space and
time to
voices which have been historically silenced. We establish a sense of community
and
support for LGBTQIA-identified individuals as well as an atmosphere of education
and growth for the entire Augsburg community.
PHILOSOPHY
It is our philosophy to provide assistance and
education for LGBTQIA-identified individuals as a first priority. Our second
priority is to educate and support members of Augsburg who view themselves
as allies.
EVENTS
LGBTQIA Support Services plans programs and events
throughout the course of the year for social as well as
educational purposes. These are some of the activities
we anticipate through the year, so please check the
Collegeâs calendar for event dates and details!
