Advent Vespers
Online reservations will no longer be available after 10 a.m. on Friday, December 2.
Beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 2 — All remaining Advent Vespers tickets will be transferred to Central Lutheran Church and will no longer be available at Augsburg College.
If you need additional tickets for the 5 or 8 p.m. services on Friday, or for the 8 p.m. service on Saturday, you may proceed directly to the Will-Call table at Central Lutheran Church. Both the 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. services on Saturday are full.
The 32nd Advent Vespers Services will be:
December 2, 2011 at 5 and 8 p.m.
December 3, 2011 at 2, 5, and 8 p.m.
Advent Vespers celebrates the beginning of the Christmas season with traditional and contemporary hymns, anthems, and carols. The Augsburg College Advent Vespers celebration is one of the largest holiday music events in the Twin Cities with over 10,000 worshiper participating annually.
Held in the beautifully renovated Central Lutheran Church in downtown Minneapolis, this celebration combines more than 300 participants including choirs, instrumentalists, readers, and a full liturgical party.
The services highlight the majesty of the space at Central Lutheran Church. Follow the drama of the processions and capture the splendor of the sounds from the massed choirs scattered throughout the sanctuary.
WILL CALL & WAITING LISTS
Please Note—Advent Vespers Orders will no longer be mailed out after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23.
Orders received will still be filled based on availability, you will be notified as to which service was available, and the tickets will be held under your name.
- You may either pick up your Vespers tickets in person at the Augsburg College Music Office - Monday, November 28 through Thursday, December 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Or you may pick them up at the WILL CALL table, 1-hour prior to the service. The will call table will be located at Central Lutheran Church, in the South Commons Lobby which is located just to your left as you enter the church from the south parking ramp.
Currently, the 2 & 5 p.m. services on Saturday, December 3 are full. If you wish to be added to a Waiting List for either of these services, please contact the Music Office directly at 612-330-1265. You will be notified by Thursday, December 1 if tickets become available.
Seating envelopes are required for each service and will be available beginning November 1, 2011. Advent Vespers brochures and order forms will be mailed in October, or you may order seating envelopes here beginning November 1.
Group Reservations
Groups of 20 or more may take wish to take advantage of reserved seating on the main floor at the 2 p.m. service on Saturday. To guarantee space at this service or for additional information contact Cathy Knutson prior to November 1, at 612-330-1279 or knutsonc@augsburg.edu.
