In the Augsburg College Education Department, we believe in preparing knowledgeable, responsive teachers committed to educating all learners in a diverse and changing world. Developing a greater understanding of your vocation as a teacher is as important as developing the knowledge, skills, and practice of a teacher.

Augsburg College participates in NExT, Network for Excellence in Teaching, an initiative of the Bush Foundation. The college is also part of TC2, the Twin Cities Teacher Collaborative, which is a program of NExT. Excellent Auggie Teachers

Since 2004, five Augsburg teacher-education graduates have received the prestigious Milken Award for excellence in teaching. The 2012 recipient is Steve Abenth ’04, a 4th grade teacher at Highland Park Elementary in St. Paul, Minn.
