There are so many options available to students for international study, provided through Augsburg’s Center for Global Education and Experience. Many students have successfully completed major courses as well as core requirements abroad on both short-term and semester programs in several different countries.
Global Educator’s Semester in Mexico
Spend the spring semester of your sophomore year at Augsburg’s own Mexico location! The Global Educators Semester program was created by Augsburg Education Faculty to provide Education Majors with the opportunity to develop necessary cultural communication skills needed to succeed in today’s multicultural teaching environment.
Students will engage with Mexican educators form private, public, and alternative institutions, as well as visit elementary and high schools in both rural and urban areas. Highlights of the program include the ability to complete an internship in education, take courses toward the Education Major/Minor, complete up to two Spanish language courses, and ability to complete additional LAF credits needed for graduation.
Augsburg students receive an automatic $1,000 scholarship on this program, and save money on lower room and board fees – which makes this program one of the most affordable study abroad options for Auggies.
