Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition

The Master of Music Therapy  is a 36-credit program, and the Equivalency Plus Master of Music Therapy is 52 credits. Please refer to the Student Financial Services webpage for the current tuition and fees. Financial assistance including federal loans is available to degree-seeking students. If your employer provides tuition assistance, you can participate in Augsburg’s employer tuition reimbursement program.


GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Tuition Grant Programs

Each grant below offers $80 off per credit. If qualified for more than one, students may only use one of the following tuition grant programs:

Alumni Grant  Augsburg University graduates receive a grant for their entire program.

Americorps/Peace Corps/Lutheran Services Corp Tuition Grant  – Students who have completed a term of service with AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, or Lutheran Volunteer Corps receive a grant for their entire program.

Legacy Grant – Students who have had parents, grandparents, siblings or a spouse who received their degree from Augsburg University are eligible for this grant.

Military Grant  Students who have served in the United States Military receive a grant for their entire program.

Parent Grant – Students who have a child who is currently attending Augsburg University are eligible to receive a grant. The grant continues for the parent/guardian until the parent/guardian graduates. The graduation timeline for the child has no impact on the grant continuing for the parent/guardian.

Partnership Grant – Students who are employed by one of Augsburg’s partner organizations at the point of admission or once in the program receive a tuition grant for their entire program. Learn more about the Partnership grant, and see a list of our partner organizations.

Partnership Referral Grant – Student’s who have a referral from someone that could have qualified for a partnership grant (ex: spouse that works at Wells Fargo) are eligible for this grant.

Augsburg Inclusion Excellence Scholarship Award

Aimed to reduce financial barriers to graduate education for BIPOC identifying students, historically under-represented students, first generation college students, and/or those with the greatest financial need.

Amount: $5000

Open Date:  The scholarship application will be available via your application portal on May 1, 2024.

Deadline to apply: June 1st (Priority Deadline), June 30th (Final Deadline)

Eligibility: Meet one or more of the following criteria AND apply/admitted to start your program in the Spring (Jan), Summer (May) or Fall (August) semester of 2024.
  • Racialized lived experience as someone who identifies with backgrounds historically excluded from and underrepresented in college education and career paths.
  • First generation college graduate (neither parent/guardian having completed a baccalaureate degree).
  • Other lived experiences historically underrepresented and/or marginalized within graduate education including but not limited to the following:
    • Holding DACA, TPS, refugee, or asylee status
    • Having a gender and/or sexual orientation identity historically underrepresented in the applicant’s profession
    • Individuals with a disability
*Employees/employee dependents of Augsburg, and PsyD candidates are excluded from eligibility. 

 


Federal Student Aid

Financial assistance including federal loans is available to degree-seeking students enrolled full-time in the program. Students considering borrowing loans should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
