Outcomes and Statistics

        We have had a nearly continuous increase in students. So far we have not turned any students away, and the College is working with us to provide extra beds (we are expecting a 4th floorhouse starting Fall 2003).
       The relapse rates were calculated by taking the total number of students who relapsed in a given semester and dividing by the total number of students served in that semester.  The Program Totals were calculated by taking the total number of students who have relapsed while in StepUP and dividing by the total number of students served.  Students who relapsed, returned to the program, and relapsed again were counted only once for this statistic.  The graph was last updated September, 2002.
         This statistic was calculated by taking the cumulative GPA of all students served by the StepUP program while they attended classes at Augsburg College.  Any other academic work done at other colleges and/or universities was not considered.   The cumulative GPA's were then used to calculate the mean and median.  The stastistics were not weighted based on number of credits.  As of 10/02, our databases could not distinguish between grades that students received from Augsburg while in StepUP and grades they received before or after their involvement with StepUP.  Therefore, our GPA statistics include all grades that students received while attending Augsburg College.  The College Mean GPA over this timeframe (Fall 97-Spring 02) was 3.023 and the median was 3.126.
