| Minneapolis is called the "CITY OF LAKES." The city is dotted with lakes big and small and the eastern border is the Mississippi River. In the 1920s and 1930s the city planners wisely protected the city lakes by establishing a park system around them. Seen from the air in spring and summer Minneapolis is a green city dotted with blue lakes. The parks host many events, but are also a good place to go to be with a bit of nature (along with several hundred other people at popular times!) | |
