| The MINNESOTA STATE FAIR is the second largest state fair in the U.S. Only the Texas State Fair is larger. It started as a harvest festival in an isolated upper midwest agricultural state and has transformed into a major entertainment event (while retaining its agricultural roots). The fair draws major performers from the entertainment world from Country and Western to hip hop. It has its own art competition and a carnival style midway with thrill rides for the stupid.
