SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCING title image

Augsburg is competitively priced for a private liberal arts college located in the United States. International students who are enrolled full-time may be eligible to receive grants or scholarships based on academic achievement. Qualified students may apply for the President's Scholarship (ranging from US $21,500 to full tuition).


International Tuition Grant - $7,825

Unlimited amount awarded to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

International Regents Scholarship - $15,650

Unlimited amount awarded to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

International Presidents Scholarship - $21,905

Awarded to five students annually on a first-come, first-serve basis to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. All recipients of this scholarship are required to participate in the Honors program and live on campus. This scholarship is only available to international students admitted for the fall semester.

The amount of every scholarship listed above will increase with the percentage of tuition increase. This means students will be locked into the same tuition amount annually.


President's Scholarship

The President's Scholarship recognizes first-year students of exceptional academic ability with strong evidence of leadership potential. Eleven scholarships are awarded for amounts ranging from $21,500 to full tuition.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must have a 3.5 or higher GPA in their core courses OR a 27 or greater ACT composite (or a combined SAT score of 1210 or greater). The scholarship is renewable for three years, based on academic performance. Award decisions are based on academic criteria, letters of academic recommendation, leadership activities, academic essays, and an on-campus interview. To receive this award, qualified students are required to live on campus and to participate in Augsburg's Honors Program.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarships for which they qualify, but if a President's Scholarship is awarded, the applicant cannot receive any other Augsburg scholarship.

Amount: From $21,500 up to full tuition per year, up to four years
Priority Deadline for Application: Postmarked January 13, 2012*
*Applicants who have a completed application by this date will be notified if they are a President's Scholarship semi-finalist by January 27, 2012.
Final Deadline for Application: January 27, 2012.

NOTE: Students who receive a President's Scholarship are not eligible for any other Augsburg scholarship.

Fine Arts Scholarships - $3,000

The Fine Arts Scholarship recognizes incoming students who have excelled in
art, film, music, or theatre—including vocal and instrumental performance,
acting, design, and production—and who plan to actively participate in the
fine or performing arts at Augsburg. This renewable award of $3,000 per year
is based on an on-campus audition or presentation. Applicants need not major
in art, film, music, or theatre, but are required to participate in a
student organization and/or a performance group. Applicants may apply in
more than one area of fine arts but may receive only one scholarship

Amount: $3,000 per year
Priority Deadline for Application: January 14, 2011*
Deadline for Application: Postmarked January 28, 2011, for fall semester, November 1, 2010, for spring semester
Scholarship Weekend: February 18-19, 2011

*Applicants who have a completed application by this date will will be offered an audition/interview time by Friday, January 28, 2011.

You may also apply for student employment to help cover your expenses while studying at Augsburg.

Augsburg Payment Plan

All students are eligible to enroll in a monthly payment plan to bridge any gaps between financial aid and their educational expenses. It is important to read and understand the terms and conditions before you sign up for the plan. While on the plan, no-interest will accrue but there is an enrollment fee of $30. To enroll, log into your Student Account through Records and Registration. Students will be able to sign up for the upcoming fall starting in July.
