Augsburg Day Student Government provides funding through the Environmental Action Project Grant Application for environmentally-focused projects and events taking place on-campus. All Augsburg University students, staff, faculty, student organizations, departments, and offices are eligible to apply for such funding.
For what can funds be used?
Funds can be used towards events or projects that:
- Aim to reduce emissions harmful to the environment.
- Promote environmental education, awareness, projects, and visibility.
- Aim to dismantle cultural, racial, and/or systemic issues of environmental discrimination and degradation.
How does one apply for funding?
Only currently enrolled Augsburg students or currently employed Augsburg staff or faculty (including adjunct faculty) may complete this application.
Grant applications must be submitted online to Augsburg Day Student Government at least 2 weeks prior to when the funds are needed. Grant applications submitted within 2 weeks of the funds being needed will automatically not be considered. Funds can not be retroactively requested for completed or already in-progress projects.
The Environmental Action Grant Project Application is open from August 1 through April 1 each academic year.
How are decisions made?
Grant applications are reviewed by the Day Student Government Environmental Action Committee on a weekly basis. Recommendations are then made to the Augsburg Day Student Government, which meets and votes on proposals every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. during the academic year. Applicants will be notified about the status of their grant applications every Thursday by noon at the latest.
