Sharon Gerlach has a passion for introducing students to the French language and culture, drawing on over 20 years of teaching experience to make language learning as interesting and enjoyable as possible. She owes her fluency in French to study abroad in Montpellier, France, as well as an academic year as a Fulbright Teaching Assistant just outside of Paris. She is also familiar with the Québecois French dialect thanks to summer trips to visit her bilingual cousin, a tour guide in Québec City.
With her academic background in Linguistics, especially Phonetics and Phonology, Sharon is able to offer French Phonetics as a Directed Study to interested students. She has also taught Phonetics to students of linguistics and speech pathology at other institutions.
