Emily Heuschele is a PhD candidate at the University of Minnesota where she teaches String Techniques and Teaching, Instrumental Methods, and supervises student teachers. Her dissertation research is a historical study of the evolution of eclectic styles in American string education, including fiddle, jazz, and mariachi traditions. Previously, she taught elementary, middle, and high school orchestra in western Wisconsin in the Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire school districts. She is active in the metro area as a judge and clinician, and she performs regularly on violin and viola in community orchestras and chamber groups.
