Mzenga Wanyama

Mzenga Aggrey Wanyama was born and raised in the East African country of Kenya. He received his B.ED. and M.A degrees from the University of Nairobi in Kenya and then taught English language and literature in Kenyan High schools and at Kenyatta University, also in Nairobi, for about eight years. In the United States he had a two-year stint in the graduate program at Howard University in Washington, D.C. before proceeding to the University of Minnesota where he attained a Ph.D. in English. Between the years 2002 and 2005 Mzenga worked as an Assistant Professor of English at St. Cloud State University where he taught courses in literature and writing. His areas of focus are Postcolonial theory and literatures and African American literary history. Mzenga is very excited about the prospect of sharing his passion for these spheres of literary endeavor with students and colleagues at Augsburg University.
