James Curry

James Curry is a producer, director, writer, and editor. Active in the industry for over 25 years, he has worked on numerous projects in Los Angeles and Minneapolis ranging from trailers, commercials, PSA’s, epk’s and music videos as well as broadcast for NBC, FOX, and ABC. He is the recipient of multiple Telly awards including one for Outkast’s “Stankonia” epk. Directorial projects for clients included documentary work for Prince’s “Life O’ the Party”. His short film ‘Westbound” was selected for the 2016 New York Short Film Festival, the Twin Cities Black Film festival and the Minneapolis Saint Paul International Film Festival. His latest documentary masterjam, currently in its festival run, was the focus of a mental health social justice intersectionality panel of which he was a panelist at the 2019 Denton Black Film Festival. It was also an official selection for the Twin Cities Film Fest Insider Series and won Best Documentary at the 2018 Twin Cities Black Film Festival.
