Welcome to your home at Augsburg College!
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! You have made a great decision in choosing to live in our upper class community here at Augsburg College. You will find endless opportunities here that will enhance your overall college life. The Department of Residence Life strives to provide affordable, yet comfortable, responsible, resourceful and respectful communities for all our residents. To help explore what our upper class communities have to offer, we have created this newsletter to provide you with some general information about living in our communities. Please take some time to review this brief but fun and informative video
As an upperclassman, you are at a time in your college life where you would need to make challenging decisions about your academics, future career and even family. The residential communities here at Augsburg offer a comfortable atmosphere to enable you focus on all your dreams. You will meet other students that may share in your goals and beliefs and help you make real connections both at Augsburg and beyond.
We have a very dedicated group of professional and student staff who are here to help facilitate the peer to peer interactions that enhance your college life. You will be living in a community where your peers have varied interests and needs. We encourage you to take advantage of this diversity and also share with the rest of your community any talents and contributions that will benefit the rest of your peers. We have a diverse team with a common goal of making your experience here at Augsburg a memorable one. Be sure to get to know the student staff members in your community – Resident Advisors, Residential Executive Coordinators, Residential Facilities Coordinators, and Housing Specialist Assistant. These peers have already experienced most of the challenges you now face and can be great resources as you navigate through your college life. Your Residence Hall Director also has the experience, training and skill to advise you as you encounter difficult situations. Be sure to utilize them.
On that note, welcome to Augsburg College, and to the residence halls. The date for your move in is Saturday August 23, 2014 from 4pm-6pm. The location is the Urness/Mortensen lobby. Please meet the other professional staff who will also assist you in different capacities. They are Domingo Coto, Residence Hall Director for Urness Hall (the campus’s first year hall); Cyndy Rowe, Housing Specialist; and Amanda Erdman, Director of Residence Life. As the Residence Hall Directors for the residence halls housing mostly upper class students, we look forward to meeting each of you and wish you much success here at Augsburg College.
