Timaka Wallace, M.H.S., M.S.N., R.N.
Timaka began her co-leading teaching role at Augsburg University September 2020 with the inaugural course “Dismantling White Supremacy”. She co-led this course for two consecutive years. While co-leading this course she simultaneously was enrolled at Augsburg University as a full-time Doctoral Nursing Practice student within the Transcultural Leadership Track.
Since then her role has expanded. In September 2022 she officially became part of the Augsburg University nursing faculty as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Bachelors of Science Nursing program. Timaka’s advocacy, nursing scholarship, and passion lies within the vulnerable populations of adult psychiatric mental health, addiction studies, transcultural nursing and integrative health-healing modalities that uphold and improve human potential across care settings and care systems.
Timaka holds a Master of Science Nursing from MGH School of Health Professions with a major in Lifespan Psychiatric Mental Health. She is an official candidate for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification. She also holds a Master of Health Science from Governors State University with a major in Addiction Studies
Prior to coming to Augsburg University she worked for 8 years in adult psychiatric mental health, 9 years in home health, and countless years in stepdown intensive care medical surgical ventilator units. Timaka’s ultimate goal is to secure a “Seat At The Table” and share in decision-making that will affect mental health, addiction studies, and transcultural nursing education locally, abroad, and holistically.
