Rachel Malchow Lloyd

Rachel Malchow Lloyd

Rachel Malchow Lloyd, Ph.D., taught secondary English Language Arts for fourteen years, and joined the Augsburg faculty in 2014. She earned her teaching license and a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in English and Media Studies at Carleton College. She completed her master’s degree in English Education and doctorate in Literacy Education at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lloyd is an associate director in Augsburg's Education Department, and the Paideia Director.

Dr. Lloyd’s primary research interests include critical literacy, diverse young adult literature, dialogic classrooms and collaborative teacher development. Dr. Lloyd was initially trained in Paideia practices for supporting students’ acquisition of seminar discussion skills in 2005, and has been serving as the co-director of Augsburg’s Paideia Program since 2017, and the director since 2022.

Rev. Dr. Tim Thompson

Rev. Dr. Tim ThompsonRev. Dr. Tim Thompson serves as Associate Pastor of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in West Saint Paul. His ministry is focused on helping the church awaken to the immense changes taking place in our days, and embrace the practices and perspectives that are being called for in response. His most recent work has been in developing "Giveaways," where congregations host events that look like Rummage Sales but offer all the items for free to the community. Through these acts of generosity, churches serve - and meet - their neighbors and relational bridges are being built.

Rev. Mike Carlson

Rev. Mike CarlsonRev. Mike Carlson serves as the Lead Pastor of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, one of the largest ELCA churches in the U.S., and home to  the St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center, one of the leading non-profits dedicated to programming for the unhoused and underserved in Washington County. 

Terri Allred

Terri's passion for justice led her to a career working with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors directly after completing her Master of Theological Studies in Feminist Theology. After working as a trauma therapist with survivors and perpetrators of violence for a decade, she moved into nonprofit management and systems-change in order to make a more comprehensive impact on this social issue. Even while she served as Executive Director of 6 nonprofits in three states, Terri always owned and operated a consulting and coaching business. For more than 25 years, she has provided training, business and personal coaching, program development and many other services to hundreds of individuals and organizations. 

Terri is a certified Spiritual Coach, Enneagram Facilitator, Reiki Master, Restorative Justice Facilitator, Life Coach and Hypnotherapist.  Terri is currently in the process of being certified in Deep Streaming Facilitation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Time Integrations For Maximum Empowerment (T.I.M.E).

When Terri isn't working, you can find her looking for seashells with her family, creating pottery or snuggling with her dogs at home.

Timaka Wallace

Timaka began her co-leading teaching role at Augsburg University September 2020 with the inaugural course “Dismantling White Supremacy”. She co-led this course for two consecutive years. While co-leading this course she simultaneously was enrolled at Augsburg University as a full-time Doctoral Nursing Practice student within the Transcultural Leadership Track.

Since then her role has expanded. In September 2022 she officially became part of the Augsburg University nursing faculty as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Bachelors of Science Nursing program. Timaka’s advocacy, nursing scholarship, and passion lies within the vulnerable populations of adult psychiatric mental health, addiction studies, transcultural nursing and integrative health-healing modalities that uphold and improve human potential across care settings and care systems.

Timaka holds a Master of Science Nursing from MGH School of Health Professions with a major in Lifespan Psychiatric Mental Health. She is an official candidate for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification. She also holds a Master of Health Science from Governors State University with a major in Addiction Studies

Prior to coming to Augsburg University she worked for 8 years in adult psychiatric mental health, 9 years in home health, and countless years in stepdown intensive care medical surgical ventilator units. Timaka’s ultimate goal is to secure a “Seat At The Table” and share in decision-making that will affect mental health, addiction studies, and transcultural nursing education locally, abroad, and holistically.
