Christensen Scholars

AN EXPLORATION OF CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY & VOCATION

The Christensen Scholars Program is a small group of ten academically accomplished students who share an interest in the theological and practical exploration of Christian community and vocation. The experience promises to be intellectual, communal, theological, dialogical, challenging, and practical.

Structure

There are three components to the Christensen Scholars Program:

The Seminar: The ten Christensen Scholars gather every other Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm with a Religion professor in a seminar style class to reflect theologically and explore vocation and Christian community. This Seminar qualifies as an elective for a religion major or minor.

The Community: The ten scholars also gather on the other Thursdays evenings from 6pm- 8pm with a Campus Pastor to actively engage in practices of Christian community together that will deepen your sense of self and belonging.

The Trip: The Christensen Scholars will also take a pilgrimage together to Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in the Cascade mountains where they will continue their exploration and vocation in the midst of this small, mountain community. The trip will be January 6-17, 2025 and all expenses will be covered.
