All Things SEM at Augsburg

PSEO Starts at Augsburg

Posted on 8/24/24

A big part of Augsburg Applies to YOU is about academic belonging.  One way we are growing to 5,000 Auggies by 2030 is through a full time PSEO option that welcomed the inaugural class this past fall.  The intended outcome is a great first year experience for students who may choose to complete their degree in 3 years.  Next stop on the PSEO road to success are a bunch of cool career related online courses.

SEM paddles down the Mississippi

Posted on 8/8/24

Amanda, Stacy, Robert, Catherine, and Stephanie dropped in at the River Park Boat Launch in Brooklyn Park for their annual paddle down the Mississippi.  This year was a really nice and easy paddle.  The wind was headed in the right direction and we made it to the end of our journey Boom Island Park Boat Launch in NE Minneapolis, way ahead of other years where we had to row a lot harder.  Special thanks to John and Molly at Twin Cities Kayaking for the many years of making this belonging outing special.

SEM Operations at Slate Conference with an Unidentified Former Staff Member

Picture this: Steph, Abe, and Ang are at the Slate conference, armed with your lanyard, swag bag, and a half-hearted promise to “network aggressively.” Some of us were dodging eye contact with most hoping not to run into any former team members when suddenly, there they are—your former teammate, a direct report to Abe, who will remain unnamed forever.

Augsburg Applies to You – Podcast

Posted on 5/6/2023Admissions Leadership Podcast

Many thanks to Ken Anselment, host of the ALP: The Admissions Leadership Podcast, for hosting Vice President, Robert Gould for discussion about “Changing Admissions From Selecting to Belonging”.  Ken takes Robert on a deep dive into an approach to college admission that is turning the process on its head and—in the process—not only fostering a greater sense of belonging for students, but for the admission professionals who work with them. Could it be an antidote to the Great Resignation?
