Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR)
SOAR is a required full day orientation experience that aims to prepare first-year for a successful transition to Augsburg University. SOAR initiates the social and academic integration process for all first-year by fostering a welcoming environment, building a sense of belonging, and providing timely information and resources. Students participating in SOAR are empowered with the tools and confidence needed to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually throughout their journey at Augsburg.
Auggie Days is the required second part of orientation, happening at the beginning of Fall semester right before the 1st day of class, that continues the social and academic integration process for all first-year students, providing a warm welcome into the Augsburg University community. Students participating in Auggie Days learn about Augsburg University policies, expectations, and culture. Students engage with campus resources that contribute to their academic success and personal development. Students explore co-curricular engagement opportunities, deepening their campus pride and connection to Augsburg.
Spring SOAR is a required orientation program for all incoming first-year and transfer undergraduate students that aims to prepare first-year and transfer students for a successful transition to Augsburg University. SOAR initiates the social and academic integration process for all first-year and transfer students by fostering a welcoming environment, building a sense of belonging, and providing timely information and resources. Students participating in Spring and Transfer SOAR are empowered with the tools and confidence needed to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually throughout their journey at Augsburg.
