David began his teaching career in 1990 and currently teaches AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN as well as for an online program through the Niswonger Foundation. He has been awarded Teacher of the Year twice in his tenure at Science Hill High School. Since 2005, David has been an AP Microeconomics Reader where he has served as a Reader, Table Leader, and Question Leader. He also served on the AP Microeconomics Test Development Committee from 2014-2018 and was involved in the articulation of the Course and Exam Description for AP Microeconomics. David is currently an AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics Consultant for College Board and enjoys connecting with both new and experienced AP Economics teachers. He has an Educational Doctorate from East Tennessee State University where he works with preservice teachers as an Adjunct Professor. He has served as a content reviewer for Khan Academy, wrote supplemental materials for the Krugman text, and presented at various conferences including the AP Annual Conference at the St Louis Fed and the AP Annual Conference in Anaheim and Seattle. David lives in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and is married to his lovely wife, Martha. They have one daughter, Lindsay, who is an Early Childhood Educator and Kindermusik Instructor.
