Group Medical/Dental/Vision Coverage
Benefits-eligible employees may participate in the following health and welfare insurance plans:
- Augsburg’s group medical insurance plans; your choice between two (2) plans through HealthPartners.
- Preventative care, including routine physicals, cancer screenings, and prenatal and well child visits are covered at 100% with no deductibles.
- Coverage begins the first day of the month on or following the date of hire.
- Augsburg’s group dental coverage through Delta Dental.
- The plan provides coverage for most services, including preventive services, restorative services, and orthodontics.
- There is an annual deductible of $25 per person/$75 per family for non-preventive services.
- Coverage begins the first day of the month on or following the date of hire.
- Augsburg’s group vision coverage through EyeMed.
- The vision plan features coverage for prescription eyewear through a network of participating vision care providers.
- Coverage begins the first day of the month on or following the date of hire.
Pre-Tax Flexible Benefits
Benefit-eligible employees may also be eligible to participate in one or more of the following pretax spending/saving accounts:
- Health Savings Account (HSA) – A savings account that provides an opportunity to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified medical, dental, or vision expenses. Funds roll over from year to year. Only employees on Augsburg’s High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) are eligible to elect and contribute to an HSA.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) – A spending account that provides an opportunity to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified medical, dental, or vision expenses for the plan year. Funds do not roll over from year to year.
- Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA) – A pre-tax spending account used only for qualified dental and vision expenses. Participants must be participating in the HDHP to have a LPFSA. Funds do not roll over from year to year.
- Dependent Care Account (DCA) – A flexible spending account that allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified dependent care expenses.
