Why Augsburg

Virtual Campus Tour

Augsburg University offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and nine graduate degrees to more than 3,500 students of diverse backgrounds. The trademark of an Augsburg education is its emphasis on direct, personal experience. Guided by the faith and values of the Lutheran church, Augsburg educates students to be informed citizens, thoughtful stewards, critical thinkers, and responsible leaders.

Intentional Diversity

Augsburg is located in one of the most diverse areas in Minneapolis, the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. This diversity is also reflected in our student body, faculty, and staff members. This rich diversity brings a wide variety of cultures and perspectives to our community life.

Community Service

Students gain valuable experience working and learning side-by-side with our neighbors. From City Service Day to course-embedded service-learning, our on-campus food shelf to our LEAD Fellows Program, service is integrated into all we do.

Vocation

It is our commitment to help students and employees discern and live their vocations—to inspire them to explore their gifts and passions, and embrace how their work in the world can have purpose and significance.

Urban Location

In the heart of Minneapolis, campus is within walking distance to the Mississippi River and multiple nature paths, the Seven Corners dining and theater district, the Weisman Art Center, Mill City Museum, Guthrie Theater, and more. Getting to and from campus is easy too, with Metro Transit bus stops and the Blue and Green Line LRT stations just a few blocks away.
