Augsburg Full Tuition Scholars
The Augsburg Full Tuition Scholars program acknowledges strong academic success and is designed to make Augsburg University affordable for students with demonstrated financial need.
Incoming transfer students will receive the total cost of tuition and standard fees (does not include room or board) through scholarships and grants if they meet certain eligibility requirements. Students must submit the FAFSA each year and remain Pell Grant eligible for the scholarship to renew. Please see below for details on the scholarship for incoming first year and transfer students.
Full Tuition Scholarship – Transfer Students
Incoming transfer students will receive the total cost of tuition and standard fees (does not include room, board, or books) through scholarships and grants if they meet the following criteria:
- Cumulative unweighted college GPA of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Pell Grant eligible
- Application submitted by March 15th for fall semester or November 1st for spring semester
- Resident of Minnesota and a graduate of a Minnesota high school
- Completion of Associate of Arts degree in 4 semesters or less
Augsburg Full Tuition Scholar transfer recipients must continue to meet satisfactory academic progress during the completion of their Associates of Arts degree at their current community college. Augsburg Full Tuition Scholar recipients are encouraged to live on campus, however residing on campus is not a requirement of the scholarship.

A: Yes, you must file the FAFSA with your family each year and meet all of the requirements above as a first year or transfer student to qualify for the scholarship.
Q: I’m a transfer student and took more than 2 years to complete my Associate of Arts degree, am I still eligible?
A: You must have completed your Associate of Arts degree within 2 years (4 semesters or less) of graduating from high school. Transfer students must apply by March 15th for the fall semester or November 1st for the spring semester while they are enrolled in the final semester of their Associate of Arts degree program.
Q: Will my full tuition scholarship cover the costs of my room and board? Do I have to live on campus?
A: Scholar recipients are strongly encouraged to live on campus, however residing on campus is not a requirement of the scholarship. Scholar recipients will receive the total cost of tuition and standard fees (does not include room, board, or books) through a combination of Augsburg scholarships, federal, and state grants.

A: Students often utilize a combination of federal student loans, earnings from a work study position, savings from a summer job, or a monthly payment plan to help finance the cost of their room and board.
