Special Circumstance Application
A special circumstance is when the information provided on the FAFSA form is not reflective of the family’s financial situation. A financial aid administrator may then change FAFSA data to more accurately reflect a family’s situation. This may or may not result in an increase in gift aid available to you.
Special Circumstance requests are considered each spring through summer prior to the start of the upcoming academic year. We are now accepting forms for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year. Please include your 2012 Tax Return Transcript or complete the IRS Data Retrieval tool available on the FAFSA when submitting your Special Circumstance application. The process may take up to four weeks from the time we receive your information.

Additional Stafford Unsubsidized Loan
Dependent students whose parents applied for a Parent PLUS loan but are unable to borrow the loan due to an economic hardship may qualify for an additional Stafford Unsubsidized loan. Please submit the form below with the required documentation listed on the form.
Late Aid Appeal
May 1st was the deadline for returning students to submit their FAFSA. Late aid applications will result in 50%-100% loss of Augsburg Institutional Aid. Students who are late in submitting their FAFSA have the option to appeal but please note, appealing does not guarantee your gift aid will be reinstated. Before an appeal will be considered, students must have finished applying for financial aid. Students can view their financial aid status anytime by logging into Augnet Records and Registration.
