Would you like to volunteer with the Augsburg Native American Film Series? As a not-for-profit film series run by a very small staff, we rely on a variety of volunteer help. Here are some of the possibilities.
Film Series Intern: Each year the Film Series has an internship available for a student from any educational institution in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Interns will work closely with the director on program development and publicity. They will also meet filmmakers and participate in screenings. Interns should have some web skills, knowledge or love of film, and a desire to learn.
Grant writing or Marketing Volunteer: If you have training in marketing or grant writing, we can use your help. Our film series relies on in-kind and cash donations to fund film and screening room rentals, purchase equipment, pay guest speakers and filmmakers, and finance our summer traveling film series to reservation and rural communities in Minnesota.
Help with Posters and Email Flyers: Every year we publish a season poster and send monthly reminders via email and list serves about our upcoming events. If you would like to help post flyers and posters in your neighborhood or are willing to pass on our email information, WE NEED YOU!
Event Volunteer: Do you enjoy community involvement? Each year we have special events that include guest speakers, receptions, and opportunities to meet interesting people.
These are some of the areas you could help us with:
- Direct people to the screening rooms
- Help with catering donations
- Coordinate and find new volunteers
If you don’t find one that fits you perfectly, but have a great idea in mind, please let us know.
