An Experience Like No Other

homecoming_08_stuAuggies! Are you ready for an experience like no other? Homecoming 2008 promises to be a fun-filled week with activities and events for all.

Tuesday, September 23

CCHP Health Fair – 11:45 a.m.-2 p.m., Christensen Center

More than 20 vendors will be available with healthy information on suicide, nutrition, aromatherapy, alcohol, sexual violence and more. There will also be reps from the employee benefit providers and three chair massage therapists offering free massages. We have free food and music and some great raffle prizes so stop by and meet the Counseling & Health Promotion staff and see what great resources we have right here on campus.

ASAC Variety Show – 7 p.m., Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center

Watch your Auggie friends showcase their talents — vocal performance, spoken word, comedy sketch, or instrumental performance. Prizes will be awarded for the most audacious and creative performances!

Men’s Soccer vs. St. Olaf College – 7:30 p.m., Edor Nelson Field

Halftime commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Augsburg men’s soccer MIAC championship team.

Wednesday, September 24

Powder Puff Football Game – 7:30 p.m., Edor Nelson Field

Cheer for your favorite Auggie women as they block, pass, kick, and strut their stuff on the field!

Friday, September 26

Homecoming Convocation – 10 a.m., Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center

Experience the Islands – 12:30 p.m., Murphy’s Grill

Pull on your grass skirt and Hawaiian shirt and come down to Murphy’s for this lunchtime luau. Learn how to do the hula or impress your friends in the limbo contest. It’s all part of the Auggie island experience. Food, fun, and prizes for all!

Sabo Center for Citizenship and Learning Colloquium – 2 p.m., Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center

The Transformation of Minnesota Politics in the 1970’s: People, Policies, and Progressivism. Alumni Martin Sabo ’59 and Jim Pederson ’56 will lead a conversation among state legislators and others who played a critical role in reforming and transforming Minnesota’s political and governmental landscape during the 1970s.

Homecoming Football vs. St. Olaf College – 1 p.m., Edor Nelson Athletic Field

Auggie Block Party – 3:30 – 7 p.m., 7th Street South between Sverdrup Hall and Lindell Library

All Auggies are invited to conclude Homecoming 2008 at the Block Party! Enjoy live music, brats, games, and more. FREE.
