By completing a Departmental Honors Project, sociology majors are able to graduate with Distinction in Sociology, an honor that goes well beyond the traditional Latin Honors (i.e. cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude). The purpose of the Graduation with Distinction in Sociology award is to acknowledge superior student achievement as a sociologist and a scholar.
