HOw to Apply
1. Complete Augsburg’s free online application
The application will ask for your contact information, educational history, academic interests, and you will respond to three short essay questions. You will also have the option to add a reference. Be sure to complete all fields, then sign and submit your application.
2. Request all official transcripts.
You are responsible for personally requesting an official transcript from each college where you were registered for courses.
a. Request your official transcript* by following instructions on each college’s website. This is often through a service such as National Student Clearinghouse, eScrip, or Parchment. Some colleges require you to sign in, fax, or email a signed release form. Most colleges require payment for an official transcript.
b. Save the confirmation details of your transcript request. Official transcripts can take up to 10 business days to be delivered to Augsburg, and not all electronic transcripts are delivered immediately.
If you need to enter an address or email recipient for your request, please use:
Augsburg University Admissions
Campus Box #143
2211 Riverside Avenue
Minneapolis, MN 55454
c. An official high school transcript is only needed when a transfer student has completed fewer than 24 transferable college-level credits. Please contact your high school to request an official high school transcript.
*In order to be considered official, transcripts must come directly from the sending institution to Augsburg. Transcripts sent by the student to Augsburg cannot be considered official.
3. Optional: Letter of Recommendation
You may have your reference submit a letter of recommendation. A reference can be a previous teacher, professor, advisor, employer, or coach. When you submit your application, instructions are sent to the reference you listed; your reference will then upload their letter directly to your application. If you would like to change your reference, or they can no longer write a letter of recommendation, please contact your admission counselor.
