July: Three is a Magic Number
“As the day suddenly turned into evening, the exhaustion, irritability, and panic, started to set in anew, there were two options. After eight hours of paddling and about ten sites visited, which were all occupied—we had to decide. Again, trying to get seven alcoholics to agree on something? Well, I say we did quite well.”

“Hey everyone, I’m BJ and I have been in Step-Up since 2023. I figured I would write a little bit about fishing because it has become a pretty important part of my life and sobriety.”
May: My Sociological Eye
“I have always had an innate curiosity about the world, how it works, and why it functions in the ways that it does. My curious disposition was always encouraged by my parents, who were ideal primary caregivers that fostered my love for the pursuit of knowledge ever since I was a small child. The first place where I was encouraged to think deeply was probably Hebrew school.”

“You are never alone. It’s easy to find supportive people. Whether it be in StepUP, on campus or in my recovery community outside of Augsburg. I’m really grateful for this second chance I get at life. Pursuing and getting a degree is a super huge deal, and everyone doing it should be super proud of themselves. It is possible through hard work, as with anything.”
