Campus Building Hours

Augsburg Students, Staff and Faculty Access

All students, staff and faculty have fob access to most Academic buildings from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday, excluding University observed holidays when the campus is closed.  There are a couple of buildings that may have different hours of operation depending on whether or not classes are in session – for these buildings, visit their websites to view their current hours:

Residential Hall Access

Augsburg University residence halls are locked 24/7 and are only accessible by fob for the students who live, and staff who work, in the building.  All guests (including current and former students, staff or faculty) visiting residence halls must be escorted at all times by a resident of the specific residence hall, a staff member who works in the residence hall, Residence Life staff, or Public Safety staff.  If you have questions regarding access to a residence hall you can contact the Department of Public Safety at (612) 330-1717, or the Department of Residence Life at (612) 330-1526.

Public Access

Augsburg University welcomes all visitors to our campus.  Currently, there are only a couple of buildings on campus that are open to the public on a daily basis:

  • Christensen Center is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
  • The Urness/Mortensen lobby is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily

All other buildings on campus are accessible for events, by fob, or appointment only.  If you are visiting campus, we encourage you to plan ahead by contacting the department(s) you’re wishing to visit to ensure you are able to access their offices.  You can also contact the Department of Public Safety to request access to a building while you are on campus by calling (612) 330-1717.  If you need contact information for a specific department to schedule a visit, you can search for the department contact information on the main Augsburg website using the search box or A to Z index, or by calling our switchboard at (612) 330-1000.
