Pre-Health Newsletter: October 16, 2020

Upcoming Events

As mentioned in the last newsletter, participating in virtual events is a great way to get information and connect with schools. You can always ask schools to help you get connected with alumni–this is a great way to meet with someone and at least conduct an informational interview. Also, don’t forget to sign up for Health Professions Week, November 14-19, where you can access resources to learn about 20 health professions, meet with schools, and have the opportunity to win gift cards ($100) or scholarships ($500) or Kaplan test prep materials.

MCAT Registration and Testing Plans in 2021

Registration for January and March exam dates opens on Tuesday, November 10 at noon ET. Please be sure to visit the registration and scheduling page on their website for more details about the 2021 testing year. You can also sign up to receive updates about MCAT® registration and testing for 2021. Please reach out with any questions via email at MCATAdvisors@aamc.org.

Test Day Details
Beginning in January, the MCAT exam will once again return to its traditional length. Each exam day will offer two full-length exam sessions: one at 7:30 a.m. and the other at 3:00 p.m. This schedule helps limit the number of people in a test center and allows for the necessary social distancing. We encourage you to learn more about the AAMC’s health and safety protocols on their website.

AAMC MCAT Official Prep Resources
Later this month the AAMC will release enhanced free resources and a new, low-cost product to help students prepare for the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section of the MCAT exam. Sign up here to be notified when the MCAT Prep resources are available.
