The 2025 Vocation of Lutheran Higher Education Conference for the Network of ELCA Colleges and Universities will convene at Augsburg University, Minneapolis, Minnesota from July 14-16.
Each year, members of Lutheran colleges gather to explore the distinctive roles we play in higher education.The theme of the 2025 conference is “Ethical Leadership in a Changing World“
The 2025 Vocation in Lutheran Higher Education Conference will explore the vital role of ethical leadership in shaping institutions, communities, and society. Hosted by the Network of ELCA Colleges and Universities (NECU), this annual gathering brings together faculty, administrators, and thought leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue on how Lutheran higher education fosters a commitment to integrity, justice, and moral responsibility in leadership.
This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Walter Fluker, a renowned scholar and leader in ethics and leadership studies, will challenge participants to consider how vocation and values-based leadership intersect in today’s complex world. His insights will provide a foundation for discussions on how NECU institutions can cultivate ethical leaders who serve with wisdom, courage, and a deep sense of purpose. The conference aligns with NECU’s mission of preparing students for lives of leadership and service through a theologically rooted understanding of vocation. Ethical leadership—grounded in Lutheran traditions of grace, justice, and community—ensures development of the character and discernment to lead in ways that promote the common good. Join us as we explore how Lutheran higher education can equip the next generation of leaders to navigate ethical challenges with integrity and faith.

REGISTER FOR THE 2025 VOLHE CONFERENCE
ELCA colleges and universities are invited to send delegations of up to four persons at a subsidized rate of $150 per person. Please register and arrange travel through the ELCA by June 16, 2025.
