A curfew from 7 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Tuesday has been announced for Hennepin, Ramsey, and Anoka counties. Minneapolis and St. Paul are under a state of emergency.
People traveling to and from work are exempt from this curfew – so Public Safety, Facilities, Dining Services and any other departments who will have people on campus for work purposes will still be able to get to or leave campus during the curfew.
Public Safety recommends that athletic practices and other campus activities be shortened so students can meet the curfew hours.
Residential students still may go to The Commons for dinner. Find hours during Ramadan.
Here’s an overview of what to expect and how to plan:
- Emergency notifications may be sent out to the community depending on the level of activity occurring and its location relative to campus
- If possible, have an off-campus housing option you can go to with alternative routes to get to the off-campus location
- Be aware of any curfews put into place by the city or state
- Have a bag with essentials packed in case you need to evacuate campus, including face coverings, any medication you may need and a phone charger
