On September 22, 2026, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) has received 12 reports of motor vehicles having been broken into and, in two cases, having items stolen from those vehicles. As a result of these reports, the University is issuing a crime advisory to notify the community and to share important safety tips.
Reported Offense(s): Motor Vehicle Tampering Incidents
On Tuesday, September 22, at approximately 5:20 a.m., DPS was notified by a Facilities Department employee that 10 vehicles had been broken into in Lot B, and two were broken into on 8th Street. The owners of two of the vehicles stated that items were stolen.

There is no suspect description.
Status
DPS is currently investigating these incidents. Anyone who may have information regarding these incidents is urged to contact the Minneapolis Police Department or Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.
