Spotlight on Tammera (Ericson) Diehm '93

diehmGrowing up in Coon Rapids, Minn., Tami Diehm was fascinated by the “inner city.” Her plan to be a social studies teacher changed when she took a class from political science professor Andy Aoki her freshman year.

“When I started college, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do, but I knew that I wanted to ‘make a difference’ in the world and have an impact on my community,” says Diehm. “Beginning with my freshman year at Augsburg, emphasis was placed on ‘giving back’ to the community. In one class, we volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and built houses in a Minneapolis neighborhood.
