ALETHEA TUSHER

Office: Lindell Library 227 & Virtual

Advising the following majors: Music, Theater, Art & Design, Film, New Media, Communication Studies, Language & Cross-Cultural Studies, English, Religion, American Indian, First Nations, and Indigenous Studies, Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies, Business

Get to know Althea: My personal academic path included dropping out of high school, going to community college, transferring to the University of Minnesota, and then earning a Masters of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Notre Dame. We all have paths that are at times fancy, full of missteps, and include multiple responsibilities and needs. My advice to students is to be open to community both outside of school and here as Auggies, and to ask for help. We’ll lift each other up. I find great joy helping students traverse their paths. Away from work, I enjoy riding my bicycle, reading weird fiction and poetry, studying philosophy and psychology, traveling around the world, and hugging my dogs.
