Incoming transfer students in the Day or Adult Undergraduate (AU) program will meet with an academic advisor to register for their first-term classes. Schedule your appointment by submitting the Required Registration Appointment form found on your admissions portal.
Note: Nursing AU students should work with your Admissions Counselor to set up an advising appointment with a Nursing advisor within the Nursing department.
Things your advisor will check in with you about
- Taking the Math Placement Test (if applicable, this needs to be done BEFORE you meet with an advisor, and is especially important for students majoring in any business major, STEM, and Natural Sciences. Check in with your Admissions Counselor if you aren’t sure whether or not you need to take the math placement test).
- Registering for Transfer Orientation (SOAR)
- Completing FAFSA Contact Student Financial Services with any questions
- Submitting any outstanding transcripts with final grades to be evaluated (you will get a “Transcript Not Received Hold” on your account if this is not completed within your first semester at Augsburg, which will prevent you from registering for future semesters).
Advising and registration
An academic advisor will explain Augsburg’s academic curriculum and requirements and discuss how the student’s prior academic work applies to the Augsburg degree. In addition, the student and the advisor will discuss academic plans and career goals, and work together to select and register for appropriate courses for the first semester at Augsburg.
