Augsburg students have access to low-cost ($5 co-pay) health care through People’s Center

Community-University Health Care Center – Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Somali, and Spanish interpreters on staff. Medical and dental services available. Accepts most insurance.  If uninsured: “If you do not have insurance, we can help you apply for MNsure, Medical Assistance, dental coverage for children, and other programs that might cover your services. A Patient Services Representative can help you apply during your appointment.  We also offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program. Eligibility is based on your income and family size. The Sliding Fee Discount Program is available to all patients, regardless of citizenship.  Uninsured patients should get Behavioral health services in the county where they live.”

People’s Center Medical Clinic – Medical Clinic located one block from Augsburg; family practice, chronic disease management, physical therapy. Also provides STD testing and treatment.  “People’s Center is committed to making health care accessible and  affordable for all of our patients. We accept all major insurance plans and offer sliding fee discount program, prompt pay discount program,  and flexible  monthly payment plans. We also help individuals and families sign up for health insurance through MnSure for free.”

Family Tree Clinic – Primary Care, Reproductive Health, LGBTQ Health, Trans Health, Mental Health, Men’s Health; Services for the Deaf, Deaf-blind, and Hard of Hearing.  Reproductive medical services on sliding fee scale for men and women. Located off Snelling and I-94 in St. Paul.   “No one is turned away if they can’t pay for services.  Many patients who come to Family Tree Clinic are eligible for The Minnesota Family Planning Program, which provides free family planning services, including free birth control and yearly exams. Find out if you are eligible.  For those not eligible for the Minnesota Family Planning Program or those not utilizing family planning services, Family Tree Clinic provides low-cost services based on a sliding fee scale. Sliding fee scale means that we base our charges on your income. You will be charged between 40 to 100 percent of the actual cost of your visit depending on your income.”

MNSure    Health insurance exchange that provides a one-stop health insurance marketplace where Minnesotans can find and compare plans and choose the coverage that fits their needs. Based on your income, MNSure will also let you know if you qualify for free or low cost insurance through the state or federal insurance programs (Medical Assistance or Minnesota Care).
