Minnesota Family Planning Program provides free family planning services, including free birth control and yearly exams, if you qualify. Many of the clinics below will help you apply for the program.

People’s Center Accepts most insurance. Sliding fee scale for the uninsured. Will help you apply for state and federal medical assistance programs. Red Door Clinic — Hennepin County Public Health Clinic — HIV/STI Testing Center and Pregnancy Prevention Services. Located downtown Minneapolis (ten minutes away on light rail — Downtown East/Metrodome station) Services are not free but no one is turned away for inability to pay. To protect your privacy, they don’t send bills in the mail.
Community-University Health Care Center — provides STI testing and treatment, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, family planning, and birth control in their medical clinic. Culturally competent services (has staff who speak Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Vietnamese & other languages) . If you do not have insurance, they will help you figure out what programs you might be eligible for, and will help you apply. Located near the Franklin Avenue light rail station.
Planned Parenthood — St. Paul Health Center (Midway St. Paul, near Raymond Avenue Light Rail Station) Services provided even without insurance. Family Tree Clinic Low cost birth control without an exam; free rapid HIV testing for uninsured patients (results in 20 minutes), comprehensive STI testing and treatment, annual exams, birth control, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and all options counseling.
