This week the Augsburg College Muslim Student Association is holding a series of events to generate awareness of Muslim culture and the Islamic faith. These events are co-sponsored by the Religion Department, Student Government, ASAC, AASA, Residence Life, Campus Ministry, Women¹s Studies.

It’s not too late to study abroad next fall! Augsburg Abroad is accepting applications for Center for Global Education summer and fall study abroad programs in Central America, Mexico, Namibia until April 1. Augsburg Abroad is also accepting applications for summer and fall International/Exchange Partners Programs in Norway, Germany, Finland, Slovenia, and China. Please note that the deadline for programs other than those coordinated by CGE and IP has passed.
Today the Augsburg community celebrated the accomplishments of its staff at the annual staff recognition event. In addition to naming those who have served at the College for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years, the community also recognized those selected for outstanding contribution awards.
For these young men, the story isn’t about getting sober, staying sober, or even about climbing a mountain. It’s about second chances and taking chances.

Focus the Nation is a clean energy workshop and panel held to educate students, staff, and faculty about local and national energy issues. Augsburg’s event will include four workshops to show the community how they can get involved with clean energy initiatives even on a small scale and a panel discussion.
Augsburg alumni Jeff Swenson ’79 and Mike Good ’71 will be honored for their lifetime contributions to wrestling with honors from the Minnesota Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in April.
Minnesota history buffs won’t want to miss the upcoming Chrislock lecture with author and historian Mary Lethert Wingerd. According to Aidan Nancarrow, a senior history and Medieval studies major, Wingerd’s newest release is “an extremely important book about Minnesota history.”
