Homecoming 2012

Homecoming2012What does Homecoming look like at Augsburg? In a word,

Maroon.

But, Augsburg College Homecoming also looks like current students decorating the Minneapolis campus with signs of Auggie spirit, like alumni reconnecting with classmates and favorite faculty members, and like fans cheering on the football team in its attempt to defeat the Bethel Royals.

The 2012 Homecoming week features events for the entire community from September 23 to 29. Current Augsburg students, faculty, and staff can choose from more than a dozen activities happening around campus.

Visit www.augsburg.edu/homecoming for additional schedule, registration, and alumni information. Continue reading “Homecoming 2012”

Auggie wants you to be his friend

auggieHey Auggies! I’m Auggie Eagle. You might have seen me hanging around at Augsburg, usually I show up at football games and other athletic events. I think the last time I was around was for the Homecoming pep rally. I know…it’s been a while.

Lately I’m spending a lot of time in the nest because I’ve got a serious case of the bird flu. The last couple weeks I have been watching and listening to the Auggie men’s soccer team and keeping up with all the teams on the AugBlog.

Oh, and the last couple of days I’ve been reading about Rhodes Scholar, Brian Krohn. I hear you are having “Brian Krohn Day” next Thursday? I might just show up sporting a lab coat! Continue reading “Auggie wants you to be his friend”

An Experience Like No Other

homecoming08Homecoming is a chance for you to connect with other Auggies, to share memories of the past, and to create new ones. Did you play basketball? Get your former teammates together and come to the Hall of Fame banquet. Did you love your first-year chemistry class? Then you might want to hear Dr. Gyberg speak at Auggie Connections. Did you sing in the choir? Come hear our fabulous Gospel Praise ensemble! Whatever your Augsburg experience, we invite you to come back to campus, see what’s new, and share your story with us.

This year, connect with Auggies past and current at the first annual “Auggie Connections” event on Friday evening. And don’t forget to show your Auggie pride at the football game against the Oles. Some highlights of the week include: Continue reading “An Experience Like No Other”

Let the Auggie Adventure Begin!

home_stuThe Augsburg campus is bustling with excitement for Homecoming 2007 — and for good reason. This year’s Homecoming will be chock full of Auggie school spirit and fun activities.

The week will kick off on Monday, Oct. 8 with a student/faculty ultimate Frisbee game and, later, a coronation/pep rally complete with a fireworks display. Other events taking place throughout the week include the ASAC Variety Show, the infamous Powder Puff football game, campus-wide laser tag, an Auggie block party, and the Homecoming dance.

Third-year student Amanda Chaffin says, “I’m so excited to play in the Powder Puff football game. I think Homecoming is a great opportunity for the first years to meet alumni and mingle with older students so they can see what Auggie spirit is all about.”
